- Has anyone else had trouble with Practical Peripherals modems
- going "out to lunch" periodically? This is both the 14.4 and
- the 28.8 (not the Pro series, the white case series).
-
- The symptom I get is that the OH light stays on, and the CD light
- stays off (theoretically not possible for any length of time).
- The modem is then completely hung until you power it off - there is
- no way to get its attention via the serial port, even if you have
- &D3 set (so it resets the modem on DTR drop).
-
- The really annoying part is that sometimes the line is actually
- off-hook, and sometimes not. When it is not, incoming calls
- to the modem pool end up getting routed to the dead modem, and
- you get RNA. That's a really bad thing.
-
- If anyone has figured out why this happens and how to solve it,
- I'd love to hear from you!
-
- Thanks,
- Tim
