  14. Has anyone else had trouble with Practical Peripherals modems
  15. going "out to lunch" periodically?  This is both the 14.4 and
  16. the 28.8 (not the Pro series, the white case series).

  18. The symptom I get is that the OH light stays on, and the CD light
  19. stays off (theoretically not possible for any length of time).
  20. The modem is then completely hung until you power it off - there is
  21. no way to get its attention via the serial port, even if you have
  22. &D3 set (so it resets the modem on DTR drop).

  24. The really annoying part is that sometimes the line is actually
  25. off-hook, and sometimes not.  When it is not, incoming calls
  26. to the modem pool end up getting routed to the dead modem, and
  27. you get RNA.  That's a really bad thing.

  29. If anyone has figured out why this happens and how to solve it,
  30. I'd love to hear from you!
